Art Minor

The Department of Visual & Performing Arts offers two tracks for undergraduate students who are minoring in Art.

Students who complete the Minor in Art will be able to demonstrate:

  1. Basic skills in artistic creation
  2. Awareness of studio art methodology and conventions
  3. creative thinking in the study of art history and criticism and the visual arts' relationship with other disciplines

Studio Art

The Studio Art Track provides students with the opportunity to integrate creative and artistic practice with drawing, painting, sculpture and digital art pursuits. It is a concentrated program which provides students desirable skills of Visual arts and creativity.

Art History

The Art History Track provides a series of courses that analyze the art history, theory, and criticism of diverse visual traditions in world culture. It is designed for students who wish to replenish their knowledge of the history of art within a broad humanistic scope.

Application for the Minor

Students applying for a minor in either track should complete the graduation application and submit it to the Registrar along with their application for the BA.
