Important Information:

Contact Dr. Trachtenberg with all internship related concerns and questions. 

Please do NOT contact governmental offices and nonprofit organizations offering
internships without first speaking with Dr. Trachtenberg. 

The CSU Career Services Office and Dr. Trachtenberg
will assist you in finding and applying for an internship. 
 

Required POLS degree program internship course to be taken the same semester as the internship: 

POLS 4490/POLS 4491 Internship/Practicum

(Dr. Trachtenberg must register you for this course.)

Generally, students doing a nonprofit organization internship take POLS 4490
and students doing a government agency internship generally take POLS 4491. 

Internship Opportunities:

All interns will complete CSU internship form in addition to those required for application to
a specific internship program. The CSU internship form should be turned in to Dr. Trachtenberg.

CSU Internship Learning Agreement

Dr. Trachtenberg must approve, sign and submit the completed CSU Internship Learning Agreement to the Career Services Office for you.

IMPORTANT:
It is your responsibility to find an appropriate internship before the semester begins.
Please contact Dr. Trachtenberg or Bridgette McDonald, CSU Career Services Office, in
discuss possible internship opportunities.Your internship MUST be approved by Dr. Trachtenberg,
the internship coordinator.


2011 Georgia Legislative Internship Program

Political Science majors in their senior year at CSU with exception academic records of achievement will be invited to apply for a legislative internship. The completed internship application package must be approved to Dr. Trachtenberg for approval and submission. 

The POLS Internship Coordinator will assist you in preparing your application package.

The program application package included a cover letter, a completed application form,  an official CSU transcript from the CSU Registrar, a  two-to-five page essay on “How your studies and experiences have prepared you to participate in the internship program and what you expect to gain from the program”, and three references (Two references from CSU faculty and the third from a non-CSU affiliated adult who is not a family member
(The POLS Internship Coordinator will provide you with all application related forms.).
