Middle Level Education Graduates

Competent - Caring - Committed

The program is committed to the idea that the best place to learn about teaching middle school students is in the middle schools. Partnerships have been formed with middle schools in six local counties (Clayton, Fayette, Fulton, Henry, Rockdale, and Griffin-Spalding) in order to provide unique and diverse experiences for Clayton State University students. Upon completion of the program, our students have spent nearly one thousand hours in a middle school, and have demonstrated proficiency in all four content areas. They have also developed an extremely high level of competence in using computers and other technology for use in the schools. Each of our graduates enters the profession with the confidence of having already been a part of the middle school community much longer than most first year teachers. This unique experience means that our graduates are in demand, and most have employment offers even before graduation.
