My research focuses on how people use science
while making decisions about various socioscientific issues and the
effects of evolution understanding and acceptance on functional
scientific literacy. I am currently developing an assessment of how
students apply science content learned in class to situations outside of
the classroom.
Please contact me if you are interested in undergraduate research opportunities related to science education! I also work with secondary science teachers on how to incorporate socioscientific issues as part of their teaching and how to handle controversial topics in the classroom.
