Important Information

Contact Dr. Trachtenberg with all internship related concerns and questions. Please do NOT contact governmental offices and nonprofit organizations offering internships. Dr. Trachtenberg will assist you in finding and applying for an internship. Dr. Trachtenberg will submit your internship application.

Required POLS degree program internship course to be taken the same semester as the internship: POLS 4490 Internship/Practicum

Internship Opportunities

All interns will complete Clayton State internship form in addition to those required for application to a specific internship program. The Clayton State internship form should be turned in to Dr. Trachtenberg.

The coordinator will submit the completed Clayton State internship forms to the Career Services Office for you.

IMPORTANT:

It is your responsibility to find an appropriate internship before the semester begins. Please contact the instructor to discuss your ideas for one or contact Bridgette McDonald in Clayton State Career Services to make an appointment to discuss possible internship opportunities. Your internship MUST be approved by the instructor.

2009 Georgia Legislative Internship Program

Your application package must be approved by the POLS Internship Coordinator prior to submission.

The POLS Internship Coordinator will assist you in preparing your application package.

The POLS Internship Coordinator will submit your application package.

The program application package included a cover letter, a completed application form (The POLS Internship Coordinator will provide you with an application.), a Clayton State transcript from the Clayton State Registrar, a two-to-five page essay on “How your studies and experiences have prepared you to participate in the internship program and what you expect to gain from the program”, and three references (Two references from Clayton State faculty and the third from a non-Clayton State affiliated adult who is not a family member (The POLS Internship Coordinator will provide you with reference forms.).

2009 Legislative Session Application Deadline: October 24, 2009.

Governor's Internship Program

The POLS Internship Coordinator will assist you in preparing your application package.

The application & resume must be approved by the POLS Internship Coordinator before submission.

Applicants will submit a completed online application form and a resume.
