A Warm Welcome to Psychology 3540 from Dr. McCarty

I would like to offer a warm welcome to what I hope will be a rewarding, fun, and thought-provoking experience – a semester to explore the useful principles of learning and behavior.  I truly believe that this material has the potential to improve the quality of your life as well as the lives of those around you, and I am looking forward to sharing this material with you.  I expect to learn a lot from you and certainly hope the reverse will also be true.

During the semester, I will be using my home page to communicate with you in a variety of ways. First of all, you can find out about the latest activities and readings for the class. From time to time I will put assignments here instead of handing them out in class. If my e-mail communications from the class indicate that there are some areas of concern or misunderstanding regarding class assignments or materials, I might put some helpful information here over a holiday weekend or between class meetings. If there are Internet sites I want you to go to, the assignment might be posted on this home page. As you can see, there are many possible uses for the page, and I hope you will visit it often during the semester. By connecting to a printer, you can print out anything on this page should you need a "hard-copy".

This website is always under development and subject to improvement.  If you have suggestions about how I can add to it in ways that would make it more helpful, please let me know.  Your feedback will be quite useful to me as I work on this course website, and I look forward to hearing from you throughout the semester.
