Chapter 7, Sections 7.1, 7.2, 7.4

Lesson notes:

Work and energy are fundamental concepts in physics. In this chapter, the definition of work will be introduced as will one of the forms of energy, kinetic. The work-kinetic energy theorem will be discussed.

Objectives:

1. Be able to calculate the work done by each force acting on a body and the net work done by the resultant force.

2. Understand the work-energy theorem and the concept of kinetic energy, and be able to apply them to problems.

3. Understand the definition of power.
