Community Service:

Volunteer service is one of the most important aspects of a student's professional development--employers typically prefer to hire applicants with experience, yet it is difficult to obtain that experience without volunteering.  In this class, community service activities are designed to increase CCSU ecology student volunteering both on campus and off.  For a list of approved activities and the number of points for each, please see the community service activities portion of the course website.  Only approved activities on the list may be used for community service.

Mid-term Progress Report:

The mid-term grade in this course which will be issued near or on February 23, reflects approximately 40% of the entire course grade.  Based on this grade, students may choose to withdraw from the course and receive a grade of "W."  Students pursuing this option must fill out an official withdrawal form, available in the Office of the Registrar, by mid-term, which occurs on February 27.  It is important to note that the mid-term grade is only a form of feedback, and does not in ANY way affect the final grade.

Academic Profile Testing:

The Department of Natural Sciences' BIOL 3250 (Microbiology) and BIOL 3500 (Ecology) classes have been specially selected for standardized testing by the University.  The Dean of Arts and Sciences is requesting that ALL ECOLOGY STUDENTS take this exam.  In order to schedule an exam time, you may stop by the Testing Center or call 770-961-3445 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday to schedule their choice of sessions (see session list below).  You must do so by January 17th.
