 | Eligibility Requirements:
 | Complete at least one full semester at Clayton State |
 | Be in academic Good Standing (usually means at least a
2.0) |
 | Earn the appropriate number of credit hours (30 hours
in a baccalaureate program; 18 hours in an associate program; 12 hours
in a certificate program) |
 | Complete all course prerequisites |

 | Getting an internship is like getting a job. So…:
 | Develop a resume |
 | Network, network, network |
 | Attend career fairs |
 | Learn about interviewing |

 | Complete the Student Information Sheet and submit to Career
Services. |
 | Identify an internship site:
 | Review internship opportunities that are posted in
Career Services |
 | Receive and read email announcements about internship
opportunities |
 | Identify your own potential internship and seek
approval from the Office of Career Services and your Faculty
Coordinator. Keep seeking an internship until you have an internship. |
 | Read and send email |
 | Make telephone calls |
 | Submit resumes |
 | Accept interviews |
 | Check internship postings in hard copy and at
www.MonsterTrak.com6 |

 | Complete the Internship Agreement Form:
 | Provide complete, accurate information about the
Internship Site, Address, and Supervisor. |
 | Develop at least three learning objectives. |
 | Learning objectives answer the question, “What do you
expect to learn by participating in this experience?” Work with your
site supervisor to develop these. |
 | List the duties, responsibilities, or activities that
will enable you to meet your objectives. |
 | Obtain signatures (student, supervisor, faculty
coordinator). |

 | Register for the correct class and pay tuition and fees:
 | If an internship course is not listed in the Class
Schedule, check with your major department. |

 | Return completed and SIGNED forms to Career Services. |
 | Check the Class Schedule or class syllabus and note dates
for MANDATORY class sessions. Your grade may be affected by absences from
these class meetings. |
