This introduction to the historian's craft will introduce research techniques, philosophies, and technologies used in analyzing and writing about the past. Students will develop their critical thinking and writing skills through course activities. |

Important policies The rest of your syllabus is on the website under “Part 1.” Please pay particular attention to the sections on conduct. Students are expected to arrive on time, to silence and put away cell phones, and to refrain from eating or conducting personal conversations while the class is in session. Unless an unavoidable emergency develops, do not leave class while it is in progress. You are not permitted to walk in and out. You are allowed to bring a drink to class, but you are responsible for any messes that are made. |
