Journal Guidelines
All students enrolled in INTE 3901 are required
to spend 10 hours per week for the 15 weeks of the semester
engaged in activities associated with their internship.
During that period, students are required to submit bi-weekly
journal reports describing in detail their internship activities.
As a minimum this should include a page or two of narrative
description of activities, assignments, projects, meetings, etc.
and a half page of reflection about your experiences and what you
have learned during the week. It is important to include
reflections each week, since the final report must have several
pages of reflection drawn from the weekly entries.
Students should complete their bi-weekly reports as a Word
document and send it to their instructor as an email attachment
according to the instructions on the course syllabus. Failure to submit
reports in a timely manner will result in a lower course grade.
At the end of the semester students are required to turn in a
completed journal that includes all interim entries. Students
should recompile all weekly reports, review what they have
written, edit to insure that the writing is of professional
quality and add three or four pages of summary and reflection.
The journals count for 75% of the grade in the
course. 25% of the grade comes from the supervisor's evaluation
of your work during the internship.
