Educating parents is an important component. The first level of parenting skills training is provided by the Clayton Extension Service. If further training is needed, it is provided by the Clayton Center.
Although progress reports are send home every three months to each participant's parent, parents are frequently disengaged from their child and do not respond to efforts to contact them. Only a few parents respond to surveys mailed out to them.
