GAH MEMBERSHIP


The Georgia Association of Historians is a professional organization dedicated to the study of history. Membership is the organization is encouraged for any professional historian, college or university educator, and to undergraduate and graduate level students.

WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN THE GEORGIA ASSOCIATION OF HISTORIANS?
 

bulletGAH provides the opportunity to associate with other historians and to exchange ideas pertinent to the profession and to research work.
bulletThe annual GAH convention provides historians with the opportunity to hear the latest research work in a wide variety of historical areas. Presentations cover topics in U.S. History, as well as in Middle Eastern African, Latin American, and European areas.
bulletRepresentatives of most private and public colleges and universities in the state are members of GAH which provides a wide range of information about potential teaching positions.
bulletMembership also includes public historians, archivists, writers, and others interested in serious historical study.
bulletThe annual GAH convention, sponsored by a different college or university each year, presents a reception and tours centered around local history of the host site.
bulletGAH membership annual dues are reasonable as are convention fees.
