Catalog Description:

BIOL4999A:  The purposes of this class are to assess the biology degree program and to assist students in seeking employment or further schooling. Students are required to attend three class meetings. Students will participate in a seminar on how to prepare for job searches and graduate and/or professional school. Students will complete a series of surveys to assess the quality of the biology degree program. Students will take a two-hour standardized subject test in biology to assess their knowledge in biology. Students will also participate in an individually scheduled senior exit interview. A fee is required to pay for the standardized exam. Current fee is $26.

BIOL4999B:  The purposes of this class are to assess the biology degree program and to assist students in seeking employment or further schooling. Students are required to attend two class meetings. Students will participate in a seminar on how to prepare for job searches and graduate and/or professional school. Students will complete a series of surveys to assess the quality of the biology degree program. Students will also participate in an individually scheduled senior exit interview. 

Course prerequisite and co-requisite:

Prerequisites: BIOL 3200, BIOL 3250, BIOL 3380, BIOL 3500, BIOL3650, BIOL 4100, BIOL 4201 (must be taken the final semester prior to graduation).

Computer Requirement:

Each CCSU student is required to have ready access throughout the semester to a notebook computer that meets faculty-approved hardware and software requirements for the student's academic program. You MUST take the Biology fields test on one of these days.  Plan for 2 and 1/2 hours for the test.     IF you miss the test you will be unable to graduate as you will receive an unsatisfactory grade.  You are expected to make a score at the 50% percentile or above.
