Mid-term Progress Report

The mid-term grade in this course, which will be issued between June 21 and June 25, reflects approximately 30% of the entire course grade.  Based on this grade, students may choose to withdraw from the course and receive a grade of "W."  Students pursuing this option must fill out an official withdrawal form, available in the Office of the Registrar, by mid-term, which occurs on June 27.

Course Schedule:

Important Dates  (see updated schedule periodically because these dates may change).

Last day to drop without academic penalty: June 27

Final:  July 31st 8:00 a.m.

Class Policies:

Students must abide by policies in the Clayton State University Student Handbook (adminservices.clayton.edu/studentaffairs/StudentHandbook/foreword.htm), and the Basic Undergraduate Student Responsibilities (http://a-s.clayton.edu/BasicUndergraduateStudentResponsibilities.htm ).

Attendance:  Attendance is expected for all class periods.  Attendance is required for examination periods.  Any absence must be accompanied by a written excuse from a doctor or other competent authority.

Take-Home Assignments:  Assignments are to be turned in on time.  Ten percent of the assignment grade will be deducted for each day the assignment is late. All assignments are expected to be turned in by 5:00 p.m. on the due date.  Any assignment turned in after 5:00 p.m. is considered 1 day late and the penalty will be given.

CHEATING:  Cheating is defined as copying anything that is not your own and turning it in as your own work.  For example, if you work on an assignment with a classmate and you write your answers with the same wording as your classmate then you will be accused of cheating (and so will your fellow classmate).  If you copy ANYTHING out of a book or off of a web page then you will be accused of cheating.  If you copy answers off of another person's paper during a test then you will be accused of cheating.  Cheating in any form will result in a minimum of zero on the assignment and academic misconduct forms will be filed with the Office of Judicial Affairs for any violation.  Judicial procedures are described at http://adminservices.clayton.edu/judicial/.

Testing policy:  Each student must turn off all cell phones before class begins, especially before an exam.  Each student will place ALL belongings under the desk.  Only pencils and pens will be allowed on the desk while taking a test.  If you are caught with an inappropriate device (PDA, MP3, computer, notes, purse, etc.) on your desk during an exam,  then you will be given a zero on that exam and an academic misconduct form will be filed.  All students are responsible for filling out their scantron bubbles correctly.   The instructor will not give points back for mistakes made on filling out scantron forms.

Course and Faculty Evaluations:

What happens if I do not complete a course/instructor evaluation?
If you do not complete the course/instructor evaluations, you will miss an important opportunity to help improve the quality of your education. If the overall response rate is low, the evaluations for a course or instructor may not be valid. This has a negative impact on the faculty evaluation process and hinders the school’s ability to make improvements. When students do not complete both the course and instructor evaluations for a given class, they will not be allowed to view their grades in those classes early. They will have two wait to see those grades until two weeks after the day of the last final exam for the semester.
