Presentation of PowerPoint

Organization and Pictures

Student(s) presents information in a logical, interesting sequence which audience can follow. Pictures explain and reinforce screen text. 

Audience has some trouble following presentation because student jumps around.  Better pictures could have been selected.

Audience cannot understand the presentation because there is no sequence of information.  Pictures are not adequate to explain the technique

Presentation was poor.  Pictures were not given.

Subject Knowledge

Student (s) demonstrates full knowledge by answering all questions with explanations and conclusions are based on the data presented.

Student(s) is uncomfortable with information and is able to answer only rudimentary questions or does not generate conclusions based on data presented.

Student does not have grasp of information, student cannot answer questions about subject and does not draw appropriate conclusions.

Student(s) did not understand anything.

Mechanics

Student’s presentation had no misspellings or grammatical errors and bullet use was consistent.  Slides were labeled clearly and correct contrast was used.  Words were used conservatively.

Student’s presentation had some misspellings, grammatical errors, poorly used bullets, poorly labeled slides, poor contrast or too many words on the slides.

Student’s presentation had many misspellings, grammatical errors, and the slides were very difficult to read and/or contained way too many words. 

No oral presentation was delivered. 

Presentation Style

Student maintains eye contact, uses a clear voice with correct pronunciation and uses a laser pointer correctly.

Student occasionally uses eye contact, reads some of his/her slides/notes, has trouble with pronunciation, talks too softly or does not know how to use laser pointer well. 

Student reads all of slides/notes with no eye contact, has poor elocution or acts very clumsy with laser pointer and advancing the slides.
