Poster for analysis of research paper

For this assignment, you will need to read the research paper.  Then, you will need to make a poster online using power point (or other program that you know how to use).  You can look at my example of a poster or you can use your own format.  However, you will need to include all of the sections that I have listed below.  This assignment is due on Oct. 2 at 12:35 PM.  You must submit the assignment through Web CT.

1.     TITLE AND NAME

Give the title of the paper and your name.

2. INTRODUCTION

Give a brief overview of the paper.  What was the main objective of the study and what did the authors find?

3. TECHNIQUES

Pick three techniques that are discussed in the paper.  You may only choose from the list below:

      Promoter

      GFP

      How is adenovirus used and manipulated?

      Behavior:  rotational behavior, cylinder test, forelimb akenesia

Behavior only counts as 1 technique.  You can describe all 3 techniques if  you want OR you can describe just one in more detail. 

Restriction enzymes

Cloning

Sequencing

SDS acrylamide gel

6-OHDA

Western Blot

Immunohistochemistry

Repeated measure analysis of variance (ANOVA)

You may have to do some outside reading for this part.  You will need to state the purpose of the technique and how is it performed.

4. RESULTS

Pick 2 figures.  If a figure has more than one part, you will need to discuss all of the parts.  Different parts do not count as different figures.

Explain what was done in the figure and what were the results?

5. DISCUSSION

Give a summary of the discussion.

You will need to submit this assignment as an attachment in Web CT.  You will need to make sure that you can use Web CT prior to the due date.  If you cannot post your assignment at the proper time, I will count your assignment as late.
