| Dr. Fran Norflus is
an assistant professor of biology in the Department of Natural Sciences at
Clayton State University. She has taught biology for non majors (biology
1111 and biology 1112), immunology, microbiology, genetics, biotechnology and cell biology at Clayton State.
She has also taught classes in cell biology, human biology, neurobiology, microbiology and immunology at other institutions before coming to Clayton State in the fall of 2005. Her academic interests include research in the area of treatment of neurological diseases. She has performed bone marrow transplants on mice with Sandhoff disease and has also done research on the treatment of mice with Huntington's disease. Her current research involves investigating the behavioral phenotype in wildtype C. elegans worms and C. elegans worms with Huntington's disease.
