To complete the English curriculum, students pursue one of two emphases: writing or literary studies. Further details are available on separate pages, linked from the left-hand menu.

All English Majors

• Areas A-F: 60 hours
• Junior/Senior Core: 12 hours

Writing Emphasis

• Writing Core - 15 hrs.
• English Electives - 21 hrs.
• Guided Electives - 12 hrs.

Literature Emphasis

• Literature Core - 15 hrs.
• English Electives - 21 hrs.
• Guided Electives - 12 hrs.
