    unit conversions 

Solve:

    1000 MW = 1.00x10⁹ W

    for 1 day = 24 h, the output would have been

    (1.00x10⁶ kW)(24 h) = 24x10⁶ kWh

    at 12 cents per kWh, lost revenue would be

    ($0.12/kWh)(24x10⁶ kWh) = $2,880,000
