Homework:

Read the instruction sheet for the Home Heating Audit from Appendix C of your textbook.  This Appendix is also available at the textbook Web site.

Compute the number of heating degree days for a home located in Atlanta, GA, if the indoor temperature is maintained at 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

Additional sources of information:

During this course you will perform a formal heating audit for your home. An introduction to the techniques for performing the calculations associated with the audit is provided in this lesson. Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory provides a Home Energy Saver which performs similar calculations. Five bonus points are available on your heating audit if you include the results of the Home Energy Saver calculations with your report.
