Chapter Objectives - Chapter 3: Conservation of Energy
Lesson notes:
During this lesson one of the most fundamental laws of nature, conservation of energy, will be introduced. Do not confuse this law with energy conservation - those methods used to reduce energy consumption. During this lesson, we will review or complete topics from lesson 3 and then discuss new topics associated with the law of conservation of energy.
Objectives:
1. Be able to state and apply the law of conservation of energy for closed and open systems.
2. Be able to state the definition of efficiency and be able to use it in calculations.
3. Be able to discuss the special problems associated with energy use in developing nations.
4. Be able to convert energy-related quantities between one another.
