Advisement Guides

Students should complete the appropriate CMS advisement guide in pencil and bring it with them to their first advisement session.

Paper copies of the latest guide are available on the bulletin board outside of the Music 219-220 offices. PDF versions are available here for download. You will need the free Adobe Reader to open these files.

Fall 2008 Advisement Guide (PDF)

This guide is keyed to the CMS requirements set forth in the Fall 2008 Academic Catalog. Students must have attended classes at CSU during the 2008-09 academic year in order to graduate under these requirements.

Fall 2006 Advisement Guide (PDF)

This guide is keyed to the CMS requirements set forth in the Fall 2006 Academic Catalog. Students must have attended classes at CSU during the 2006-07 or 2007-08 academic years in order to graduate under these requirements.

Fall 2005 Advisement Guide (PDF)

This guide is keyed to the CMS requirements set forth in the Fall 2005 Academic Catalog. Students must have attended classes at CSU during the 2005-06 academic year in order to graduate under these requirements.

Freshmen and Sophomores

Advisement for pre-CMS majors with fewer than 45 hours is administered by the School of Arts and Sciences Academic Advisement Center. Pre-CMS majors should apply to enter the CMS program when they are nearing the 45-hour mark.

Rising Juniors and Seniors

Once they complete 45 hours, CMS students are advised by the program's core faculty, listed below. (You will be assign to a particular advistor by the CMS program coordinator, Dr. Steve Spence. If you have questions, please contact him.)

Applications to Graduate

Students planning to graduate within the next year should keep a careful eye on the deadlines to submit applications to the Registrar's Office. Students who miss this deadline will not graduate on time.
