Mr. Alan Caomin Xie, originally from China, has been teaching and working in the US as an artist since 1999. From 1989 to 2000 he studied sculpture and painting in China Academy of Art and Savannah College of Art & Design. Mr. Xie holds the BFA in sculpture and MFA in painting. His works are exhibited in Spiller-Vincenty Gallery in Jacksonville, Florida, Shotheby's Art Link in New York, Amsterdam and Tel Aviv. His teaching knowledge is in the area of painting, sculpture, drawing and art foundations.

Mr. Xie's teaching philosophy is that observing life is the key of creative thinking. He believes that visual art is a multi-disciplinary area. The film appreciation and contemporary culture studies are important aspects in his studio art classes.
