Below is the policy for accepting late lab reports and lab assignments that are worth 20 pts. If the report/assignment is worth more than 20 pts, the percentage in parentheses will apply to the amount of points deducted.
| When the assignment is turned in: | Points deducted |
| After lab is over to 1 day late | 2 points off (10%) |
| 2 days late | 4 points off (20%) |
| 3 days late | 6 points off (30%) |
| 4 days late | 8 points off (40%) |
| 5 days late | 10 points off (50%) |
Lab reports for the current lab are due at the beginning of the following lab period (i.e., the lab for today’s lab is due next week when we meet for lab). If there is no lab the following week, then the lab is due the next time lab meets.
No lab reports will be accepted after the end of the following lab period i.e., no more than exactly 1 week late—If you turn in a lab report in lab one week after it is due, you will receive a maximum of 10 points. If you wait until after that lab period to turn it in, you will receive 0 points.
If you wish to turn in a lab report late, it is your responsibility to bring it to my office. If I am not there, leave it in the bin on my door, and write the date and time that it was turned in on the report. If there is no date and time listed, I will assume it was turned in the date that I find the report. If I receive the report via e-mail, I will reply stating that your report was received. Save this reply in the event that you do not receive a grade for that lab report.
Supplemental materials may not be submitted once you have turned in your lab report or assignment to me.
If you do not follow the instructions that are given in class for the lab reports (general instructions for all lab reports and specific instructions for each lab), points may be deducted.
If you miss a lab, you cannot get credit for doing the lab report or assignment. You cannot write up a lab that you did not do.
