Review Questions:
  1. Because the action of lipase produces fatty acids which will change the pH of the solution.
  2. This would probably work best in the stomach where the pH tends to be low.
  3. Bile breaks up the lipid molecules to make it easier for the lipase to attack them and break them down.
  4. Because BAPNA is clear until pepsin breaks it down, at which point it has a detectable color change.
  5. All of the enzymes are present in the human body, so they should have an optimal temperature at normal human body temperature.
