Using Turnitin

English 1102 MW Class

Go to http://www.turnitin.com

To set up your account:

Click “Create a user profile” under the login box.

Enter a valid email address.

Enter and confirm a password.  Be sure to write it down!

Create your user profile:  name/country/state

Select “student” as a user type.

Agree to the license terms.

At “finish” click “start class enrollment wizard.”

 

Using the class enrollment wizard:

Enter our class ID number:  2799844

Enter the class enrollment password:  Fall2009 (case and space sensitive)

Click "next."

Click “end wizard and go to login page.”

 

To post your paper:

Login using your email address and password.

Click on our class name:  English 1102 MW  (Please make certain that this is the class you have chosen, not MWF)

Click the “submit” button for the assignment you are submitting.

Select “submit a paper by file upload.”

Enter a submission title—Essay (number)  Your name

Click on the browse button, and then select the file you want to upload. 

Click “open.”

Click “submit.”

Verify: “yes, submit.”

A printable digital receipt will appear on the screen.  (This digital receipt will also be sent to your email address.)

Click “Logout.”

 

Note: Remember that you can submit only one paper per assignment to www.turnitin.com.

 

To check your originality report:

After submitting your paper, wait 24 hours.

Login to www.turnitin.com  using your email address and password.

Click on our class name:  English 1102 MW  (Not MWF)

On the next screen, you will see a colored icon to the right of the submitted date.  (If your icon is blue or green, you’re probably OK.  If the icon is orange, yellow, or red, you quoted, copied, or possibly plagiarized too much!

Click on this colored icon to actually see your originality report.
