Go to http://www.turnitin.com
To set up your account:
Click “Create a User Profile” under the login box for "New Students Start Here."
Next, choose "student" under "Create New Account."
Put in Class ID 4657972 and
Class Password Spring2012 (case and space sensitive--no space between word and number)
Complete the User Profile:
First and last name
Enter a valid email address.
Enter and confirm a password. Be sure to write it down! I don't have access to your personal password!
Agree to the license terms.
You should be taken to the class enrollment wizard.
Using the class
enrollment wizard:
Enter our class ID number: 4657972
Enter the class enrollment password: Spring2012 (case and space sensitive plus colon!)
Click "next."
Click “end wizard and go to login page.”
To post your paper:
Login using your email address and personal password.
Click on our class name: Spring 2012 English 1101 MW class
Locate the current assignment
Click the “submit” button for that assignment.
Select “submit a paper by file upload.”
Enter a submission title—Essay (number) Your name
Click on the browse button, and then select the file you want to upload.
Click “open.”
Click “submit.”
Verify: “yes, submit.” You must click "submit" both times to make the upload work.
A printable digital receipt will appear on the screen. (This digital receipt will also be sent to your email address.)
Click “Logout.”
If you do not receive email confirmation or you do not see a receipt page, you have not submitted successfully. Go through the steps again.
Note: Remember that you can submit only one paper per assignment to www.turnitin.com. Final copy only, no early drafts. However, you may continue to make corrections to your final paper if time permits and you see something you have omitted. Just be sure to notify me that your final draft and your turnitin submission have a few discrepancies.
To check your originality
report:
After submitting your paper, wait 24 hours.
Login to www.turnitin.com using your email address and password.
Click on our class name: English 1101 MW class I have two sets of 1101 submissions.
On the next screen, you will see a colored icon to the right of the submitted date. (If your icon is blue or green, you’re probably OK. If the icon is orange, yellow, or red, you quoted, copied, or possibly plagiarized too much!
