Sample EWA Topics

1.            Suppose that you are going on an interview for a job that you really want.  What would you do or say to make a good first impression on the interviewer?

2.            Every semester CSU students pay student activity fees when they pay tuition.  Do you think you receive your money’s worth from your student activity fees?  Explain why you agree or disagree with the policy of charging each student a portion of the expenses necessary to pay for student activities.

3.            Discuss your favorite game or sport and why you find it enjoyable.

4.            This is an important time in American politics, and many organizations want to know your opinions.  Explain which you think should be more important in the development of a national budget, fighting poverty or successfully fighting a war on foreign soil.

5.            Suppose that your 18 year-old daughter has called to tell you that she wants to drop out of college and marry another college student who she is sure she loves.  Discuss why you do or do not feel that romantic love is a good basis for marriage.
