Music Composition at Clayton State University

The music faculty of Clayton State University are professional, highly-trained musicians dedicated to preparing their students for a career in music. Dr. Chris Arrell, Director of Theory and Composition, teaches courses in composition, theory and analysis, counterpoint, orchestration, and music technology.  He holds the Doctorate in Music Composition from Cornell University, the Masters in Music Composition from the University of Texas at Austin, and the Bachelors in Music Composition from the University of Oregon.  Additional university study includes attending Columbia University as an Exchange Scholar.  His principle teachers are Steven Stucky, Roberto Sierra, Tristan Murail, Dan Welcher, Donald Grantham, and Robert Kyr.
