Mission Statement

The Arts and Sciences Advisement Center serves as a center of academic support for its students. It is facilitated by Academic Advisors, whose responsibility is to provide clarification of Arts and Sciences academic requirements, emphasizing completion of core requirements for Arts and Science majors. The advisors also serve as a resource to encourage students to become knowledgeable about campus resources and academic practices.

In an effort to help students become connected to the College of Arts and Sciences and Clayton State University, the Academic Advisors:

• Introduce students to the wide range of services and educational opportunities at Clayton State University.
• Provide students with information on academic policies, procedures, and programs of the College.
• Assist students in exploring the possible short and long-range consequences of their choices.
• Assist students in choosing educational and career objectives commensurate with their interests and abilities.
• Promote good decision making skills and student self direction.
