CRC Press Freshman Chemistry Achievement Award
The CRC Press Freshman Chemistry Achievement Award is presented at the Clayton State University Honors convocation each Spring to the most outstanding freshman chemistry student as designated by the chemistry faculty. The CRC Press Freshman Chemistry Achievement Award winner receives the CRC Press Handbook of Chemistry and Physics, a certificate and his/her name permanently engraved on a perpetual plaque displayed in the Arts and Sciences Office.
Students must meet the following criteria in order to be nominated for this award:
- The student must have completed Chemistry 1211 /L and Chemistry 1212 /L sequence within the previous calendar year with a grade of A in both lecture courses
- The student must have demonstrated aptitude and enthusiasm toward chemistry.
- The student must be working toward their first baccalaureate degree.
- The student must be nominated by a Chemistry faculty member.

Award for Excellence in Chemistry
The Award for Excellence in Chemistry is presented at the Clayton State University Honors convocation each Spring to the chemistry student exhibiting potential for success in chemistry as designated by the chemistry faculty. The Award winner receives a cash award, certificate and his/her name permanently engraved on a perpetual plaque displayed in the Arts and Sciences Office.
Students must meet the following criteria in order to be nominated for this award:
- The student must have completed or will complete in the current semester all of the requirements for the chemistry minor with outstanding achievement in those courses as determined by the chemistry faculty.
- The student must have demonstrated aptitude and enthusiasm toward chemistry.
- The student must have active participation in departmental activities and events.
- The student must have exhibited anticipated future success in Chemistry.
- The student must be nominated by a Chemistry faculty member.
