CHEM 3223: On-Campus Internship
This is an internship program for selected students who will
perform supervised work related to chemistry and/or pedagogy in
conjunction with chemistry faculty
at Clayton State University. Students will be assigned a grade
for this course based on an evaluation by the faculty
supervisor.
Summer 2008 Syllabus
CHEM 3223 Internship Ideas:
- Work with a chemistry faculty mentor as a teaching assistant in a chemistry lab course and help design new laboratory experiences
- Work with a chemistry faculty mentor as a teaching assistant in a chemistry lecture course and help design new pedagogical learning aids.
CHEM 3223 Eligibility:
- Complete all course prerequisites, CHEM 1211/1211L with a grade of C or better.
- Complete at least one full semester at CSU.
- Maintain Good Academic Standing.
- Obtain prior approval from the Coordinator of Internship Learning and the appropriate faculty coordinator.
Note: Faculty mentors reserve the right to establish higher minimum requirements.
CHEM 3223 Enrollment:
1) Download and print the syllabus for CHEM 3223.
2) Print and complete the CHEM 3223 Faculty Sponsor Form and the Internship Learning Agreement in conjunction with your chemistry faculty mentor. Typically, you have to discuss the learning objectives with them.
3) Have the faculty internship coordinator sign the completed Internship Learning Agreement, and return both forms to Dr. Michelle Furlong so that she may register you for CHEM 3223.
